Surgical site infections have significant human and economic impact, in addition to posing significant challenges to those required to prevent, diagnose and treat them.

This conference examines the significant economic and human cost of surgical site infections, looks at the practicalities of surveillance and opportunities for reducing patient harm, in addition to presentations on a range of surgical site infections that present themselves in practice.
