Performance Management Excellence Award 2008

This award went to NHS South Central who has been a customer with Actuate Performancesoft Suite for more than 3 years – since Valentine’s Day, 2005!

Despite significant restructuring and upheaval within the public health sector, they were able to not only maintain a robust Performance Management program, but also evolved with the new organisation in order to support the ongoing changes. In addition, they’ve been a driving force behind the UK Actuate NHS User Group.

In 2006 this organisation decided to introduce a new pension product, one that evolves for customers as their investment needs change over time. Leveraging Actuate e-Spreadsheet from ReportSoft the winners of this award, Sampension, designed a system that holds together information from a variety of key systems, including Simcorp Dimension, that underpin the pension product. Due to the nature of the system, security is paramount and an audit trail is critical, making e-Spreadsheets an ideal product to provide the support for the calculations required.

With support from local e.Spreadsheet distributor ReportSoft, Sampension was able to establish the solution in less than three months, with only part time allocation of its own staff to the project. Data is automatically transferred from the source systems and users notified when available in e.Spreadsheet, which saves a lot of time and obviates the need for error-prone manual uploads. Furthermore, as the interface is common, there was little requirement for end-user training. A complex new business process is now supported using intuitive tools and, perhaps most importantly, Sampension can prove the integrity of the process.
